The purpose of this place is to give people some information on what our humble kinship is about, so let me cut right to the chase of what I, the founder, envision us to be like.

A social kinship.
Simply put, the more the members (myself included of course) do things together and help eachother, the more banter there is in kinchat, the merrier.

RP-oriented.
While we also accept non-RPers into our ranks, I'm a roleplayer myself and will most heartily welcome those members who share that interest and have a solid, well-developed character to RP with. Also, The Grinning Gallants, as a specific group, exist IC, so we're not just "some people who happen to know eachother".
Furthermore, I do expect every member to at least respect the RP guidelines of the server and thus keep the /say channel free from OOC banter, to never behave in a manner that would disrupt other people's RP, and all that rather obvious jazz.

Mature.
First of all, mature doesn't mean stuffy and boring. It also doesn't mean politically correct. I think dinosaurs with laser eyes would be crazy awesome, and I have certainly told a number of inappropriate jokes in my time. However, mature does mean taking responsibility for your actions and words, and respecting other people's freedom of speech and expression just as much as your own.
What this boils down to is basically that kinchat will not be "moderated" or anything like that. If you feel like cursing, fire away! If you feel someone's language offends you, tell them! However, flamewars are still not mature.
